Ubisoft is shutting down Hyper Scape
Ubisoft is shutting down Hyper Scape, a free-to-play battle royale game that first launched back in August 2022. The game prioritized movement with stylized graphics, and was primarily developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft notes in the announcement that the game volition exist shut down on April 28, 2022, leaving a couple of months for anyone yet playing to try some more than matches. Ubisoft also added that the developers will be taking "key learnings" from Hyper Scape into future games.
"To the Hyper Scape community, cheers for your passion and dedication to the world of Neo Arcadia both inside and outside of the game," the web log mail service reads. "Your devotion to the game we built will always be cherished."
Looking ahead to the futurity, Ubisoft is betting on other projects, such as a Splinter Prison cell Remake, which is early on in development using the company's proprietary Snowdrop engine. Ubisoft has too fatigued criticism for introducing NFTs into some of its games through the Ubisoft Quartz program.
In our review of Hyper Scape, nosotros ultimately found it to be "just okay," turning in some interesting ideas while missing the marking in a lot of ways.
"Hyper Scape does a lot of things right and introduces new gimmicks, merely in its current state, the core gameplay isn't every bit fun as it needs to exist," we wrote. "The polish and potential are undeniable, only information technology fails to capture the spirit of what makes other games in this genre smooth."
