Can I By Ms Word As A Standalone App

Palcouk

Probably Office Home & Student would be the way to go https://products.office.com/en-gb/compare-all-microsoft-office-products?tab=1

A standalone Word will cost you the same as the H&S pkge and if you factor in Powerpoint that would cost more.

Ensure you uninstall any 365 trial

I have Home & Student runing on a laptop that has a 32 gb C: drive

I'm guessing you have and SSD drive with limited room.

Probably the best solution is to buy a used laptop and install on that.

Office 365 is a subscription product and requires regular, although not constant, internet connection. Your Home subscription package allows connection on multiple platforms.

Also, check with your school. Some schools pay for students to have downloaded applications on their desktops; most pay for a less-expensive version that only uses the online apps. Do you know which your school is using?

Please navigate to your account's subscription page (https://portal.office.com/account/#subscriptions) to check whether you have a license for the latest desktop version of Office:

There is a 4-year deep discount subscription available for some students as well.

Even if you have free use at your current school, you may want to take advantage of this while you still have an .edu email. It will last after your student status ends. I currently have that as my Office 365 subscription (as staff, not student).

To clarify, I know of no way to install only Word or Powerpoint (or any other application) with an Office 365 subscription.
